Shortly after I proposed marriage to my dear bride, her brother asked me a question pertaining to her dog Molly.
This is when I first realized that Molly belonged to my wife, not to her family. I had not been aware that I would have two new residents in my home rather than one.

I’ve never been much of a dog-lover, so the idea of having a 95 lb. friend in our home came as a bit of a shock. At any rate, I do appreciate having a well-trained quasi-Labrador in my home to keep us company, and to alert us of any strange guests/noises outside.

Invite guests! (just kidding, we made extra food especially for them).

Benjamin and Mark joined us for dinner one evening last week.
Mark appeared in a previous post here.
I met both of these young men last summer, and both of them have worked a bit on the farm with Brian and me over the past year.
They are both currently electricians-in-training.
We spoke some about farming, Bible translations, Psalm singing, missions trips, and reconstructionism.

Last week, we enjoyed a visit from our friends the Matyas family, who are vacationing with their extended family nearby this week.
Here we are with their three children:

I first became aware of the Matyas family last Spring when they visited my church in Carrollton, TX. I formally met Mr. Matyas at Fort Pocahontas in June of last year during the Jamestown 400 celebration, and again in the fall when he passed through Staunton while I was working at Polyface.

Last weekend, Jenni and I had the pleasure of a visit from a portion of the Davis family and the Marshall family.
The Davis family, and some pictures taken while touring the farm:

And the Marshall family:

During our visits, we have been singing Psalms from the psalter Book of Psalms for Singing and reading the corresponding Scriptures from the Bible. Psalters are collections of Psalms set to music, with the words staying very close to the Scriptures with some allowances for metrical demands (i.e. making the syllables match the music well).

A couple weeks ago, Jenni and I celebrated the anniversary of the first day that the Lord brought our paths together last year (June 10, 2007).
